Aware of the need for students to learn at the beginning of their training with geomarketing tools decision-making, Asterop is committed to the master of geomarketing of the Université Paris XII, and the "sciences of the territory" master of the Institute of Alpine geography (IGA) of the University Joseph Fourier of Grenoble and licensing the University Pierre Mendès-France de Grenoble ESSIG. "Introduction to geo-marketing is an opportunity for our students," said Marie-Christine Director Fourny of IGA, Professor of the University Joseph Fourier. "LP ESSIG students can benefit from professional tools for statistical analysis of data in making marketing, one of the areas of application of GIS in this new license professional departments STID of the IUT2 and the LIG SHS", says Gérard Grégoire, educational head of the licensing of the University Pierre Mendès France ESSIG.
With indicator of Census and mapping software
Asterop offers all students at these universities partners free access to the desktop of its Geointelligence Analyzer software version. They will use the standard features that allow to study a trading area, to analyse the profile of the consumer in a given area and simulate the establishment of a new point of sale. The software includes a database of indicators of the 1999 population census and reinforced by a series of indicators of partial census 2006. Finally, thanks to the support of TéléAtlas in this project, students can use the mapping features on the France whole with a detail level-up "Street" on the town of Grenoble. They will also have access to maps with the settlements of post and the Caisse d'Epargne, which will thus form a "case". "The flexibility of the software and the richness of data allow us to propose even more concrete case studies to the students.". Make "them individually setting the software available to them much more quickly operational on this tool", see Abdelkader Abdellaoui and Jerome Baray, 2 co-directors of the Master geomarketing at the Université Paris XII (UPEC).
Enhance decision-making geomarketing training
All students from partner universities will be able to connect to the Asterop platform with e-mail addresses that are provided by their institution. They can also use the solution during their internship in a company (their valid remaining access codes). "We have already issued more than 80 licenses of our software solutions at the University of Paris XII, IGA and the ESSIG, and touch, to date, a little more than sixty students and faculty." But we have not stop there. "We expect to work with all universities and schools with courses in GEO-marketing that make us the request," explains Lionel Maisonneuve, Director Commercial of Asterop. Asterop wishes to go further to enhance the curriculum which familiarized students with decision-making geomarketing. Asterop contributors will be practical courses in the second half, including the master of geo at the Université Paris XII. Approximately 30 hours of course are planned in total on the three institutions. At the same time Asterop creates a student prize of the best project geomarketing. It will be awarded in September 2010, the three winners. The projects will be evaluated according to their relevance, of the quality of the work and the interest of the use of tools or solutions geomarketing as a decision support tool. This award intends to reward students who have made the choice of Asterop solutions for the implementation of their project priority.
